Why Dénia
The Myers family has been traveling to Dénia since 1972. It’s a very special place for us, and we are excited to share it with you! There are tons of fun things to do in Dénia. You can go to the beach and swim in the Mediterranean; visit the ancient castle; peruse the local markets and shops; eat fabulous meals (everything from street food and sidewalk cafes all the way up to a Michelin 3-star restaurant); and stroll the seaside promenade. You can also play tennis, golf, horseback ride, kite surf, wind surf, bike, boat, and hike.
Dénia offers easy access to other wonderful places in Spain and Europe. It’s the closest port to Ibiza. Please let Laurie or Kat know if you’d like suggestions on other places to visit in Spain.
Absolute Highlights
If you only do a couple of things while in Dénia, we recommend you do these.
Walk the promenade along the Mediterranean. Here is a map. You can start or end anywhere on the route.
Have lunch at Restaurante Mena on the terrace. Book in advance for paella and to ensure a seat on the terrace.
Explore the market. From 8am to 2pm from Monday to Saturday at 16 Magallanes St. This is where we do the majority of our food shopping. It has amazing serrano, cheese, olives, etc.
